Barry “Rocky” Fiddler was born September 28, 1960. In February of 1975, Barry left his home in Waterhen Lake First Nation, north of Meadow Lake in Saskatchewan. Where he was headed is unknown, but his family never saw him again.

The exact date and time that Barry left home, and when he was expected to return, is unclear. When one month had passed and Barry hadn’t come home, his family reported him missing. Barry was just 14 years old.

In July of 1975, Barry attended the Thunderchild First Nation Powwow – an annual community event in Thunderchild First Nation, Saskatchewan. This sighting of Barry was five months after he initially disappeared, and nearly 200 km away. It’s unknown how he got there, and where he might have stayed along the way.

Barry was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown boots, and a brown wool checkered jacket. Nobody has seen or heard from Barry since, and all searches and investigation have failed to locate any trace of him. He is classified as endangered missing.

Barry is described as Indigenous with black hair, brown eyes and a freckled complexion. He may use the nickname “Rocky.” In 1975, he was 5’7” tall and 140 pounds.

Nearly 45 years have passed since Barry “Rocky” Fiddler vanished. While few details are available in his case, the search for answers in his disappearance has never ended. His disappearance is still an open and active investigation with the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police.
